Harvey

Harvey Silikovitz won fans’ hearts from his first appearance on the show where he won big, but his luck sadly didn’t last.

After a massive win on March 10, Harvey appeared to completely fall apart the next day. Despite getting the Final Jeopardy! wrong on the first day, Harvey still ended with $23,600 which was over double the dollars of the next closest competitor. On day two, though, he found himself constantly dipping into the red. On March 11, he finished with a correct Final Jeopardy! guess, but only scraped together $13,600, losing him the game.

Fans were crushed as they were totally rooting for Harvey after finding out on Monday that he was powering through despite a difficult chronic illness diagnosis. The sharp change in his performance was perplexing with one fan commenting on Reddit, “Wow… This has to be perhaps one of the biggest reversals from a previous game I’ve ever seen. Going from a historically great performance to a distant third is quite the difference to say the least! ‘Jeopardy!’ Is called Jeopardy for a reason, and this game is a fine example of that.”

“Damn, I’m kind of sad that Harvey didn’t make it a little bit further, but still, what an incredible game with three powerhouse players. Those buzzers must have been smoking from how fast they were on the draw. Congrats to James!” said another.

A third wrote, “Glad to see Harvey get his big moment and win one, seemed like he just couldn’t get in on the buzzer this time and once he realized he was in the hole he just started going for broke and guessing which is never a great strategy.

“Hope we see him again some day, even if the CWC doesn’t have subjective qualifications and he doesn’t make it, the JIT does seem to be largely subjective so there’s hope we see him again.”

Other fans prayed to the “Jeopardy! gods” to have him on again one day. “Harvey poured everything into game 1 and just had nothing left i guess,” said one.
