Anthony Edwards has achieved plenty of success since being drafted as a first-round pick in 2020 by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

While there’s not much known about his early years as a baller, one of his alleged high school classmates had a hilarious fact to share about the star.

A video recently went viral where a girl was claiming she helped the Timberwolves star guard cheat in high school. According to her, she was in high school with ANT and even showed her text messages with Edwards over X (formerly Twitter).

Her name is Sofia Pineda as per her TikTok username and the video is said to be five years old, when Edwards was making it to the NBA draft. However, the 3x NBA All-Star has not yet commented on it nor did he acknowledge the legitimacy of the video.

Anthony Edwards Gets Western Conference Player of the Week

The NBA has recognized Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards as the Western Conference Player of the Week for his performance from March 10 to March 16, 2025. This marks Edwards’ second career Player of the Week award, with his first coming on November 13, 2023.

He becomes the fifth player in the franchise’s history to win this honor multiple times. He joined the ranks of Kevin Garnett (15 times), Karl-Anthony Towns (7 times), Al Jefferson (2 times), and Kevin Love (2 times).

During this award-winning week, Edwards averaged an impressive 32.7 points per game, shooting 47.4% from the field and 38.2% from three-point range. Additionally, he contributed with 3.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game over 34.7 minutes.

His performance has helped the Timberwolves achieve a 3-0 record during this stretch and improved his season statistics. He now leads the NBA with 270 three-pointers made and ranks fourth in scoring at 27.4 points per game. He has additionally accumulated 1,811 points this season, placing him second in the league.

Edwards has also played a significant role in leading the team to a 40-29 record. This is part of an eight-game winning streak, the longest active streak in the NBA as of the last game on March 16 against the Utah Jazz
