Beloved singer Elton John sparked concerns from fans as he issued a huge announcement on social media. The music icon shared the exciting news that he was releasing Live at the Rainbow Theatre with Ray Cooper on CD and Digital. The singer, 77, penned in the caption: “Now we can dispense with the bowties and get down to business! Live at the Rainbow Theatre with Ray Cooper’ is Out Now!

“Back in 1977, stepping onto the stage with Ray was a new chapter. There was just the two of us—no band, no bells and whistles—playing the music we loved together. It was intimate, unpredictable, and one of the most freeing experiences of my career. I don’t usually listen back to my music, but revisiting this live album just astounded me how great it was!

“Available now on CD & Digital, alongside a vinyl repress. The CD and digital editions include a brand new, previously unreleased bonus track, “Goodbye” plus the original twelve-song tracklist personally curated by Elton and additional liner notes.”

Along with the caption, Elton added a number of elegant black and white pictures of Elton, as well as him performing with Ray.

The elegant pictures sparked fears from fans as at first glance, they feared it was a announcement of his d3ath.

One fan posted: “I HAD A HEART ATTACK.” Another added: “PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT, IVE HAD ENOUGH IN THE LAST WEEK.” A third agreed: “My guy please I can only take so much in a week if you passed after Ozzy I was gonna riot.”

A fourth chimed in: “Elton you can’t just post a black and white pic out of nowhere like this.” A fifth penned: “SIR YOU SHOCKED ME FOR A SEC.”

The concerns from fans come after reports that Elton’s health has “deteriorated so badly he has had to sign his autographs with his initial, E and a kiss”.

Elton contracted a severe eye infection in July 2024 which left him blind in his right eye, with “limited vision” in his left.

He told Graham Norton earlier this year about working with Bernie Taupin: “Bernie (Elton’s lyricist) gave me a lyric for a song called, ‘When This Whole World Is Done With Me’, and I’m writing the verse (music) quite quickly, and I think this is a really lovely verse,” Elton recalled during his time on Graham’s couch on Friday night.

“And then I get to the chorus, and I find that it’s about my d3ath, my demise. And as a 76 year old man, which I was at that time, and having children and having a husband, m0rtality, and you think about, ‘How long have I got? How long? I hope I’ve got, much longer than maybe I’ve got’.”
