The broadcast will go love from Indianapolis on Friday morning with Robin Roberts on site and George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan in New York.

“We’ve seen the All-Star game over the last handful of years become this big event in sports pop culture and the landscape of big summer events,” ESPN’s Ryan Ruocco told Front Office Sports.

“When GMA goes somewhere, it’s validating and has this verifying effect on wherever they are.

“It signals ‘this is a big deal’ because GMA is there.”

Good Morning America only goes on the road a few times a year, and the All-Star game is the show’s first road episode since moving to its new Hudson Square studios.

Conversations about bringing the show to the WNBA All-Star game began months ago.

It will be a two-hour broadcast that brings 15 to 30 technical employees to Indianapolis with Roberts.

The show will feature interviews with All-Stars like Breanna Stewart, Napheesa Collier, and Paige Bueckers.

The Indiana Fever will feature prominently on the show, with several members expected to join.

Caitlin Clark has not yet been confirmed to make an appearance.

ESPN will also be sending talents to join Roberts for the in-person coverage of the All-Star game.

Elle Duncan, Andraya Carter and Chiney Ogwumike will appear around 7:30am.

Rappers G-Eazy and BIA will perform during the show.

Following Good Morning America’s broadcast, ESPN will air the three-point contest and skills challenge on Friday night.

The All-Star game will broadcast on ABC in primetime.

The WNBA All-Star game has grown in viewership year after year.

In 2021, the game averaged just 481,000 viewers.

In 2023, the game grew to its most watched level in 16 years with an average of 850,000 viewers.

Last year, records were smashed when a whopping average of 3.4 million viewers tuned in to the game.

That number could grow even higher this year as Clark was named one of the team captains.
