“If only the air ambulance could have arrived sooner” – Swing music legend Pat Boone (91), a close friend and former neighbour, Choked Up remembering Ozzy Osbourne: “Even now, I still can’t believe it – and I don’t want to.”

Legendary singer Pat Boone has broken his silence following the d3ath of his former neighbour and friend Ozzy Osbourne on July 22 at the age of 76. The 91-year-old star, who is ranked as one of the biggest charting artists in the period 1955–1995 by Billboard, not only lived next door to the Osbournes for around three years, but he also contributed the theme tune to the show with his swing version of Ozzy’s 1980 hit Crazy Train.

Sharing two pictures of the pair together on his social media accounts, he penned a touching tribute to Ozzy while expressing his shock at his sudden d3ath. “I am stunned. I can’t believe that my former next-door neighbour and good friend has passed suddenly. When he and Sharon and the kids lived next-door to me for a couple of years, we weren’t rock stars comparing careers – we were just friends and neighbours getting along just fine,” he wrote.

“I was amazed when Sharon picked my version of Ozzy‘s ‘Crazy Train’ as the opening theme of their hugely successful reality TV show,” he continued.

“Others may celebrate his incredible rocking style and hard rock music – but I’ll always remember his warm friendliness as my next-door neighbor. God bless you, Ozzy.”

Pat is just the latest star to pay tribute to the self styled Prince Of Darkeness since news of his d3ath broke when his family issued a statement confirming the news.

It later transpired Air Ambulance medics were with Ozzy for around two hours trying to save his life, but sadly, they were unable to revive him.

The Thames Valley Air Ambulance landed in a field near Welders’ House, Ozzy’s Grade II-listed mansion, on Tuesday morning at 10.30 am.

It’s believed calls from the property had led the operator on the end of the phone line to believe his life was in danger, according to reports.

The helicopter was dispatched from the Thames Valley base in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, around 27 miles from his Buckinghamshire mansion. The crew was reportedly airborne for 15 minutes before landing on the mansion’s grounds.
