HEARTBREAKING: Amy Robach stunned by Tragic Loss in Michael Strahan’s Family – Thousands Send Messages: “It will pass – keep going Michael, we’re with you”!

MICHAEL Strahan’s father, Gene, has d13d at the age of 83 and is “being laid to rest” on Friday.

During the morning GMA broadcast, Michael’s co-host Amy Robach shared the sad news about his late father, though a cause of d3ath was not revealed.

The retired NFL star, 48, himself has not yet publicly opened up about the loss, which comes just a month after his show GMA3: Strahan, Sara and Keke was canceled at ABC.

Amy, 47, gave a tribute to Gene during the show, telling the audience: ”We wanted to take a moment to say our thoughts and our prayers are with our colleague Michael Strahan and his family.

“His father Gene Willie Strahan Sr. is being laid to rest today.

”He was born in 1937 … the first of nine children to receive a high school diploma.

“Enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1955, Gene rose to become a major and serve with the 82nd Airborne Division.”

Just a few months ago, Michael shared a touching message for his dad on Father’s Day, along with a smiling photo of the two of them with their arms around each other’s shoulders.

The talk show host wrote: “Happy #FathersDay to my dad and all the fathers out there. Hopefully you are relaxing and enjoying the honor of being a dad (the greatest gift in life).

“Think about the impact you have on your children and make sure you are doing everything you can to show them right from wrong because they are watching!❤”

In her emotional speech about her friend and co-worker’s father, Amy added during Friday’s broadcast that Gene married his wife Louise in 1957 and they spent almost 65 “wonderful years together.”

She added: “To Michael, Louise and the entire Strahan family, we want you to know our hearts are with you today. We love you, Michael.”

A few years ago, the former football player thanked his mom and dad for always being there for him and for helping him see all that he could be.

He told People in 2016: “I never knew I could accomplish so much. But my parents never act surprised.

“They look at me as if there’s no limit. That helped me feel like there’s no limit.”

At 17, Gene sent his son to live with his uncle in Houston, Texas so that he could try to get a college football scholarship as he was stationed in Mannheim, Germany for his job as a a major in the Army.

Michael said of this moment in time: “I didn’t know what I was doing. But because my dad never said ‘if’ or ‘possibly,’ — he said, ‘This is gonna happen’ – I said okay.”

Last month, a couple weeks after the cancelation of GMA 3, which Michael co-hosted with Sara Haines and Keke Palmer, and a couple of weeks before the d3ath of his dad, Michael opened up about life’s hardships.

He tweeted to give himself and others a bit of Wednesday motivation, writing: “Though it’s hard to appreciate this when you’re going through a painful passage, it’s the bad experiences that often teach you the most.”

He added: “Having a rough day, a rough month, a rough year. It will get better, keep your head up and be ready to move forward not backwards.”
