David Williams and Matt Lucas have teased an epic Little Britain revival during their live appearance on Lorraine on Wednesday.
The two, who created and starred in the BBC comedy series, chatted with Lorraine Kelly, 65, on the ITV show to chat about their new podcast Making A Scene.
Little Britain – which aired on BBC Three and One – had 44 episodes, which aired over three seasons between 2003 and 2006.
The sketch show saw David and Matt take on the role of various characters narrated by Tom Baker.
During their appearance on the the morning talk show, Lorraine was desperate to know if the programme would ever make a return, after it was pulled from BBC iPlayer, Netflix and BritBox in June 2020 after concerns that the use of blackface characters on the series is no longer acceptable.
David said: ‘Would you like to see it? We’ll do it especially for you.’

Matt added: ‘If we were to do it again, maybe on stage, or something like that.
‘We did a tour 20 years ago, it was great fun, I think that would be a good way to do it again.’
Earlier on in the interview Lorraine told the stars: ‘Little Britain has had a new lease of life on the TikTok. There is a whole new generation getting it, laughing.’
David replied: ‘Well my son is 11. Everyone at his school is talking about it. As you rightly said, TikTok, people are sharing on TikTok.
‘It’s a whole new generation discovering it. I think those social media things are great for one/two minute clips.’
Lorraine confessed that she remembered when she was watching it that George Michael and Elton John appeared on the series.
Lorraine said: ‘Some of it is a bit you’d get into trouble if you did that now. But a hell of a lot of it is still as funny as it ever was. If you don’t want to watch it, don’t watch it.’
David confessed: ‘I don’t know about you, but someone says every day is there going to be more Little Britain.

‘Every day someone comes up to me in the street.’
After teasing that they might be making a return, Lorraine looked over the moon as she said: ‘In this day and age we need all the laughs we can get.’
Before wrapping up the interview, the pair asked if the Scottish presenter would appear on their podcast.
Lorraine asked if they were allowed to transmit anything, she asked: ‘Why wouldn’t get taken off or anything like that?’
Matt replied: ‘I think you can go rogue.’
‘We’re past that,’ David said.
‘We’ve all been cancelled at some point. They can’t do it again.’
Lorraine gave the star an awkward look and made a funny noise before moving on.

At the beginning of the ITV show, they shared a clip of Matt and David talking on their new podcast – the first time they had worked together in 15 years
Matt says: ‘Hang on, I thought you were cancelled?’
But David clapped back: ‘Pretty sure it was you that was cancelled,’ to which Matt cheekily replied: ‘Yeah, but you’ve been cancelled twice.’
Little Britain originally aired on BBC Radio 4 between 2000 and 2002, and then landed on our screens.
Some of the best known characters from the series include Lou and Andy, Daffyd Thomas, Marjorie Dawes and Vicky Pollard.
The show was pulled from a number of streaming services five years ago.
In an apparent reaction to the Black Lives Matter protests, Netflix pulled the series, along with the pair’s other comedy Come Fly With Me.
Then the BBC and BritBox both confirmed they had also decided to remove Little Britain saying ‘times have changed’ since the show first aired.
The shows include scenes where the comedians portray characters from different ethnic backgrounds with the use of make-up.
The pair could have been referring to when fans weren’t happy over the character portrayal in Little Britain, as well as David’s foul-mouthed Britain’s Got Talent rant which saw him step back from his role as a judge on the ITV show.
Not only that, Matt left his role as a presenter of Channel 4’s Great British Bake Off in 2022, after just two years on the programme.
Last year David said that cancel culture is ‘exhausting’.
‘The whole thing is exhausting isn’t it?’ he told The Daily Telegraph.
‘Things that are explosively funny are often on the edge, aren’t they?’ the funnyman continued.
‘[The issue] is complicated, but you just look at each joke as it comes really.
‘Obviously if you were worried about every single thing you said or did might offend someone, that you wouldn’t be able to say or do anything on stage.
‘I kind of think people haven’t lost a sense of humour in the way that it’s often portrayed.’
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
