DRAMATIC COMEBACK: Emmerdale return ‘SEALED’ for legend after nine years to ruin Jacob and Sarah’s wedding

Emmerdale viewers are forecasting the comeback of a soap icon to stir up some drama on Sarah Sugden and Jacob Gallagher’s wedding day.

Sarah (Katie Hill) has been through a tough few months, living with a life-limiting illness and recently deciding to embark on an IVF journey in her desire to have a baby.

Her former boyfriend Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) backed Sarah’s decision and offered his services as a sperm donor, which Sarah accepted. However, Sarah was subsequently diagnosed with cancer and tragically had to undergo a hysterectomy, meaning she can no longer bear children.

This left Sarah heartbroken, but her grandmother Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) came up with another plan, determined to assist Sarah, reports Belfast Live.

Charity suggested that she could act as Sarah’s surrogate, but this idea didn’t sit well with the family, including Charity’s husband Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) and Jacob’s grandfather Eric (Chris Chittell).

This week, however, the soap unveiled a significant twist when Jacob attempted to distract Sarah from the baby drama by taking her out for a picnic.

Jacob confessed his love for Sarah and proposed to her, wanting to be more than just friends again. Despite being taken aback, Sarah agreed.

Now, with Jacob and Sarah’s wedding on the horizon, fans believe a previous resident is set to return and cause a stir on their big day.

Kelvin Fletcher played Andy Sugden in Emmerdale from 1996 until 2016 and since leaving Emmerdale he has won Strictly Come Dancin

On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, viewers speculate that Sarah’s father Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher) might make a comeback.

“Sarah’s wedding would be the perfect opportunity for Andy to return,” one individual pondered. Another concurred: “I agree.” A third added: “Same, he should have come back months ago!”.

Long-time viewers will remember that Andy first appeared on the ITV soap in 1996, and was involved in many dramatic storylines. After enduring years of upheaval, Andy chose to leave the village in 2016 after being wrongfully accused for the accidental shooting of Lawrence White (John Bowe) by Chrissie (Louise Marwood).

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
