Tracy Morgan’s courtside experience at Madison Square Garden took an unexpected and messy turn Monday night.
The comedian, known for his sharp wit and larger-than-life personality, found himself in the middle of a medical emergency when he suddenly began projectile vomiting during the New York Knicks game against the Miami Heat. Fans and attendees watched in shock as the scene unfolded, prompting immediate medical attention and a temporary delay in the game.
Morgan later revealed on Instagram that food poisoning was the culprit behind his dramatic episode. Posting a picture from his hospital bed, the “30 Rock” star reassured fans, writing, “Thank you for all your concern! I’m doing ok now and doctors say it was food poisoning.”
Courtside Chaos And MSG’s Swift Response
The incident occurred during the first half of the Knicks vs. Heat matchup, with Morgan seated in his usual courtside spot. Without warning, he began vomiting repeatedly, causing a scene that left spectators concerned. The game had to be paused as medics rushed to assist the comedian, ultimately escorting him from the arena in a wheelchair. Reports initially suggested there was blood coming from Morgan’s nose, but a source close to him has since denied those claims.

Despite the unsettling moment, Morgan injected some humor into the situation. “More importantly, the Knicks are now 1-0 when I throw up on the court,” he joked in his Instagram post. “Maybe I’ll have to break it out again in the playoffs. #goknicks.”
Madison Square Garden officials quickly issued a statement wishing Morgan a speedy recovery and extending an open invitation for his return. While details on exactly what food caused the illness remain unknown, fans can breathe easier knowing the situation wasn’t more serious.
Morgan, who has a history of health struggles, including diabetes and a kidney transplant, appears to be on the mend. Given his resilience, it won’t be long before he’s back courtside, cheering for his Knicks- hopefully without interruption.
