THE FLIP Off on HGTV has scored high ratings for the premiere episode, but Tarek El Moussa’s spinoff The Flipping El Moussas with his wife Heather has been struggling.

Tarek, 43, reunited with his ex-wife Christina Haack for The Flip Off after working with her on HGTV’s Flip or Flop from 2013 to 2022.

The exes went their separate ways after 10 seasons, as his wife Heather, who he married in 2021, joined Tarek on his new show with a similar concept called The Flipping El Moussas.

Christina, 41, focused on her design spinoffs Christina on the Coast and Christina in the Country.

The three reunited for HGTV’s The Flip Off, where Tarek and Heather will take on Christina and her then-husband, Josh Hall, to see who can execute the more successful house flip.

The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal audiences tuned in to see the exes reunite, as The Flip Off brought in a solid 874,000 viewers on January 29, making it HGTV’s fourth highest-rated show.

But The Flipping El Moussas with Tarek and Heather hasn’t been as popular with audiences.

The season premiere on December 26 brought in just 631,000 viewers.

The highest-rated episode of the season was on January 2 with 753,000 viewers.

The lowest-rated episode aired on January 9 with 469,000 fans tuning in.

The most recent episode on January 30 had 607,000 viewers.

When Flip or Flop aired, the December 2, 2022 episode had a whopping 1,108,000 viewers.

The December 9 episode brought in 1,111,000 viewers, while the December 16 episode had 1,146,000 people watch.

THE FLIP OFF

On the series premiere of The Flip Off, Christina discussed her success compared to her ex-husband’s new wife.

She said, “Heather basically took over my position. Those are big shoes to fill.”

Tarek then told Christina in a separate scene of the house-flipping business, “Last year was rough, last year kicked my butt.”

Christina responded, “Because you don’t have me designing the houses.”

Heather explained how the statement was a dig at her design skills.

MARRIAGE BREAKDOWN

On the premiere, viewers watched as Christina worked with her then-husband Josh to pick a house to flip.

However, throughout the episode, Josh displayed his temper.

“Remember you’re a Hall now,” Josh said, as Christina sighed.

He then said, “Don’t get confused in this competition on what your last name is. You’re rude.”

Christina responded, “I don’t over-talk.”

Josh then snapped back, “All the s**t you say. And I’m like I wish she would shut up already.

“My wife’s pissing me off already.”

In another scene, Josh became frustrated when Christina cut him off during a conversation about the home.

Christina then revealed to Tarek that the two had split.

She cried to her ex-husband on the episode, “You make him very insecure.”

“Every time we would barely joke at soccer, or if I laughed at you, he would not speak to me for two to three days. I would get the silent treatment.”

Josh filed for divorce from Christina after three years of marriage in July 2024.
