Reese was ejected in the second quarter of an Unrivaled matchup between her Rose BC against the Laces BC.

During the sequence, the 22-year-old was called for a reach-in foul while Tiffany Hayes attempted to drive to the paint.

Hayes fell to the ground after Reese swiped for the ball.

Once the ref called the reach-in foul on Reese, the Chicago Sky star seemed to gesture a few times to brush off either Hayes or the call.

An official believed the gesture was aimed at him, rather than Hayes, and handed Reese a technical foul.

Reese then stated her case to the referees, appearing to argue her movement was toward Hayes, not the official.

The argument proved to do nothing, and she received another technical foul and was ejected from the game.

The cameras then displayed Reese standing on the sideline before she waved her hand again and was forced to walk to the locker room.

Reese became the first player in Unrivaled history to be ejected from a contest.

Social media users reacted to the sequence on X, with some believing the ejection wasn’t warranted.

“Soft call ngl,” one wrote.

“That’s a very weak call,” another commented.

“Technical in a 3v3 league is wild [laughing emojis] refs wild,” a third added.

The Unrivaled league began play in Miami last month and will last two months before the WNBA season begins in May.

Reese finished Saturday’s game with six points, 15 rebounds, three assists, and one blocker before her ejection.

The Rose BC did win the game 83-69 and were led by Chelsea‘s Gray 28 points.

Her Rose squad is currently 1-4 and in last place among the six franchises.

Reese is coming off a stellar All-Star rookie campaign with the Sky.
