The Chase’s Jenny Ryan has finally addressed the ‘fix’ claims after an ‘incorrect’ answer was allowed on the ITV show, leaving fans up in arms

The Chase star Jenny Ryan graced the set of ITV’s ‘Loose Women’ to quash rumours about “fix” allegations following an “incorrect” answer that led her to a controversial win.

Jenny, famed as The Vixen on Bradley Walsh’s beloved quiz show, recounted a nail-biting episode where she faced formidable opponents in a close-fought final chase.

Contestants Nick and Laura earned their spot in the final chase and racked up 14 correct answers – a score that, while not unbeatable, can certainly rattle even the most seasoned chasers.

The episode in question sparked a furore among viewers and became a hot topic online as two contestants left with nothing. Keen to clear the air, Jenny revealed behind-the-scenes details that had been hidden from the public eye.

At the time, accusations flew thick and fast, with many fans pointing fingers at host Bradley Walsh for “fixing” the game, insisting that Jenny’s response should have been ruled “incorrect”, reports Edinburgh Live.

Jenny appeared on Loose Women alongside panellists Kaye Adams, Coleen Nolan, Judi Love, and Nadia Sawalha to shed light on why she was implicated in the controversy.

Judi initiated the discussion, enquiring: “There was something really simple like a milk bottle that completely turned everything upside down.

“Yes, it just shows that even our question writers aren’t perfect,” Jenny explained as she detailed how viewer outrage was triggered: “In the final chase I was asked a question about ‘what colour is the lid on a bottle of semi-skimmed milk?’”

The panel contemplated momentarily, considering the question as they debated amongst themselves before unanimously settling on “green” as their response.

Jenny then intervened to share her knowledge and provide a proper explanation: “If you’ve got a plastic bottle from most supermarkets, I immediately thought of getting your milk delivered and it’s red and silver on the top of a glass bottle.

“Ohh is it,” exclaimed Kaye. The Vixen continued: “So I went old school, so I gave the answer and production had to stop while everyone went and checked the records and sorted it out.”

She added: “But thankfully we have lawyers on site when we’re filming The Chase – who look after the contestants and the best interests of the chasers – and they agreed that it was an acceptable answer.”

Curious about the prize money, Coleen enquired: “So was that in the final chase?” Jenny confirmed: “Yes it was,” as Coleen pressed further: “So did they lose?”

“Yes they did,” the quiz expert replied with a grimace.

Loose Women airs every day on ITV1, from 12:30pm.
