Rumors of a potential TikTok ban circulate

Olivia Dunne

Olivia Dunne, who has become an icon in the NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) space, has amassed nearly 13.5 million followers across her social media platforms, with TikTok playing a crucial role in her rise to fame. However, as rumors of a potential TikTok ban circulate, Dunne and other content creators face the uncertainty of what lies ahead for their online presence.

Before Olivia Dunne was a household name in college gymnastics, she was already becoming a star on TikTok. The platform helped launch her into the public eye long before her impressive athletic career took center stage.

Her success on TikTok is attributed to her engaging and relatable content, from gymnastic routines to lifestyle videos and brand collaborations.

TikTok‘s algorithm has played a key role in helping her reach millions of users, which has translated into massive brand deals and opportunities within the NIL space. In fact, Dunne’s estimated earnings from social media posts range from $31,900 to $43,000 per post, according to Betsperts.

The TikTok ban rumors

Despite TikTok’s dominance in setting trends and capturing the attention of millions of users, the app is facing significant challenges in the US Government. With the US Supreme Court considering a ruling that could force the sale of TikTok’s US arm, rumors of a ban have been spreading.

The potential ban has gained traction as the January 19 deadline approaches, with legal experts such as Noel Francisco predicting that the shutdown could occur around this time.

“On January 19th, as I understand it, we shut down. It is possible that come January 20th, 21st, or 22nd, we might be in a different world,” said Francisco, further intensifying the uncertainty surrounding the platform’s future.

The TikTok ban is not a new issue, as the platform faced similar threats during the Donald Trump administration.

However, this time, the situation appears more serious, especially with a lower court upholding the ruling for the ban last month. Although users may find workarounds to access the app, the loss of easy access to TikTok would create significant barriers for both content creators and users.

The same thing happens with the NBA Draft.

This year, the discourse on the NFL Draft and NBA Draft has gotten even louder as African-American women openly pondered why so many of the players never have a partner that is the same race as them.

One guy on TikTok decided to answer that question by revealing that the vast majority of his division-1 friends in college or headed to the league are dating or married to white women and explained why.

He stated that some of them had told him that their white girlfriend looked up to Taylor Swift while their girlfriend looked up to Megan The Stallion. He then states the guy asks how many white women he has seen doing the Megan Thee Stallion challenge as opposed to Black women.

He then dove into another story of a friend who relayed that his Black girlfriend started to request money from him as soon as she found out about his NIL money. She wanted her hair and nails done. He then added that the Black women would be upset if they went to places like Chipotle, and she demanded steak houses.

Former NFL running back LeSean McCoy is getting dragged online for telling on NBA legend and Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo as he suggested the 57-year-old was stepping out on his wife around eight years ago.

Mutombo, an eight-time All-Star who played for 18 seasons, met his wife Rose in 1995 and married her shortly after.

Speaking on his ‘25/10Show’ podcast, McCoy recalled a story about meeting a female he described as a “baddie” in Atlanta who told him she was seeing the four-time Defensive Player of the Year, who would take her on trips to France.

He said: “She told me he not that type of dude, you know he take good care of me…He don’t take me shopping, he takes me to France. I was like who is the dude? Guess what she said his name was? Dikembe Mutombo. I was like you’re taking him over me? But I get it, yeah he’s taking you shopping from PJ to France, I said babe, keep him.”

Fans Rip LeSean McCoy For Mentioning Mutombo’s Name

Fans did not appreciate Shady namedropping Mutombo, especially given that the former NBA center has been happily married for nearly 30 years.

“1. This doesn’t violate bro code cuss that’s not his bro. 2. He violated man code cuss name dropping when the situation could hurt my home is nasty. 3. It’s nasty cuss he ain’t have to say a name at all,” one wrote.

“D. Jack told him early like bro you a house wrecker. He thought he was gon get cool points for finishing the story lmao,” another pointed out.

“you must not know his actual nickname is Shady McCoy…he will name-drop in a minute,” a third suggested.
