The Chase was back on our screens on Tuesday and viewers were left unimpressed with the contestants as they issued a plea for a change on the Bradley Walsh show

ITV’s The Chase viewers were close to turning off their TVs, frustrated at the contestant’s cautious tactics.

The hit quiz show, fronted by telly favourite Bradley Walsh, featured yet again on March 11 with fresh faces ready to take on the challenge.

Yet, the usual thrill seemed to wane as fans bluntly critiqued the contestants for their conservative gameplay against chaser Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis.

Despite Darragh laying out cash-heaped high offers, none of the quizzers dared to bite, much to the dismay of those watching at home. When participant Andrew decided to stick with his £4,000 pot, viewers swarmed social network X expressing their letdown, reports Bristol Live.

One disgruntled fan commented: “Well, that episode was boring! Only £4K each! That’s not much for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Why can’t anybody go high? You should at least expect a £10K win each person at least!”.

Another wrote, clearly underwhelmed: “This episode is once again boring with nobody taking the High Offer!”

A third pointed out the contradiction they saw repeatedly: “Why does every contestant say you’re good enough to go for the top offer, but we need you back, so go for the middle one. Isn’t that really saying they don’t think they’re good enough to go high.”

And a fourth chimed in with a familiar phrase: “Every Day: ‘Get yourself back, we need you for the final chase. Take the middle offer.’”.

The contestants on The Chase seemed to opt for an easier path, but their strategy didn’t pay off during the intense final chase.

Andrew, Nicola, and Ryan teamed up in the finale to take on Chaser Darragh Ennis, and managed to amass a collective fifteen correct answers.

Despite some hitches along the way, Darragh overcame the challenges and ultimately prevented the trio from claiming their £12,000 prize pot.

Following the loss, one dismayed viewer posted online: “Goodness sake. So many opportunities to push back, they would have had a chance if they had got them right.”

Another audience member shared an opinion on ousted contestant Gail, suggesting that the blame shouldn’t be placed solely on her as others failed to build a formidable challenge against The Chaser, expressing: “So, three of them can’t set The Chaser a decent target, but it’s all *Gail’s* fault, for not being there ..”
