The Memphis Grizzlies continued to rub salt on the wounds of the Phoenix Suns. With a 120-118 win, Grizzlies pegged back the playoff hopes of the Suns significantly. However, with the NBA coming down to its business end, every game is having some heated moments. And the Suns vs. Grizzlies too, was not an exception. Riling up the fans significantly, Kevin Durant and Desmond Bane got involved in a verbal duel.
With just seconds left in the third quarter, Desmond Bane made a pinpointed pass to Cam Spencer. As Spencer promptly received the ball, he went ahead and executed a triple. Despite Kevin Durant lurking close, he could not have much of an impact on the play. Spencer expectedly became fired up with his antics as he began to attack KD verbally. Durant did not take this in good sport.
The Suns’ star too, began to give it back to Spencer. This was when Bane came to the defense of Spencer. Unfortunately, instead of pacifying things, the situation escalated further. So much so that the duo event went head to head.
With the officials intervening swiftly, both Spencer and Durant got called for a technical foul. However, Bane was spared from being penalized. Well, this was surely a forgettable moment for KD. Meanwhile, as per the speculations, Durant might not have many days left in the Suns’ jersey.

Durant had given the Suns’ fans a lot of good memories. However, that is soon going to be a thing of the past. As per the speculations Durant will, in all likelihood, bid adieu to the Phoenix Suns. A recent report from Shams Charania stated that without any significant shift in dynamics, Durant will not continue with the Suns.
“Unless there is a significant run here into the playoffs for the Phoenix Suns, league sources believe that there will be real changes coming to the Suns. From a roster standpoint, that likely starts with Kevin Durant. This offseason, from my understanding, what it would look like is that the Suns and Durant will work together on any potential trade to a contender,” Charania said.
Thus, the prospect of which team acquires Durant next has kept the fans excited and guessing. Now, it will be interesting to see what happens next.
