Ryan Seacrest Shares His Father’s Cancer Battle

Ryan Seacrest recently revealed that his father, Garry, has been battling prostate Cancer. The Wheel of Fortune host broke down into tears this Sunday during an episode of the On Air radio program. Ryan revealed that his father’s cancer battle was originally a private family matter, but recent developments led to Ryan opening up about his father’s struggles.

Ryan Seacrest revealed that he was doing a live performance with American Idol when he received a phone call from his sister that their father was being rushed to the hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Ryan left as soon as possible; however, when he arrived, his father was in the ICU with life-threatening pneumonia. Seacrest revealed that his father’s cancer has gotten worse.

Ryan Seacrest explained that his father has not left his hospital bed or home in over five months. Garry revealed to his son that for his birthday, he wanted to take a trip to the ocean. So the family packed up and went to the water. Ryan was able to capture a sweet photograph of his parents sitting in the sand together, staring at the horizon. The family was happy to give Garry Seacrest a moment of peace with his bride.

Kelly Ripa Shares Well Wishes To Seacrest Family

Kelly Ripa shared a moving tribute to former Live Host Ryan Seacrest during Tuesday morning’s broadcast. Kelly said, “I want to send our love to our friend Ryan Seacrest.” She explained that his father, Garry, was seriously ill. She said,” He’s battling prostate cancer, and apparently it’s gotten worse and it has spread.” Kelly shared with her viewers that they can find more information about Ryan’s father on his radio show.

Kelly Ripa addressed the Live audience and said, “We want to send our love” to the entire Seacrest family. Having a family member with cancer is a very difficult time, and both of Ryan’s parents are fighting the horrible disease. However, his mother is currently in remission.

Mark Consuelos joined his wife in sending well wishes to the Seacrest family. He looked at the camera and voiced his touching message. He said, “Love you guys.” Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, and Ryan Seacrest have been close with one another after working for many years together on Live.
