This Morning chef Clodagh McKenna was left lost for words when her ‘bland’ dish got a ‘cold-blooded’ response from Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley live on TV during Tuesday’s episode.

The Irish chef, 49, appeared on the ITV show to create Meghan Sussex’s skillet spaghetti.

Meghan admitted that she cooks the ‘controversial dish’ often for Price Harry and their kids Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, on her Netflix series Meghan, With Love.

Clodagh gave her own take on the pasta, and dished it up for Ben and Cat to try on the programme, adding: ‘So… let’s have a taste. Have a taste of this, and is this a delicious pasta?

‘Because if this is on television, it should be a delicious pasta.’

When the pair tucked into their plates there was a long, awkward silence.

There was a very awkward silence when Cat and Ben (pictured) tucked into their bowls shortly after the chef plated up the food

After a few moments Clodagh shared a nervous giggle and said: ‘Oh God!’

Ben tried to make her feel better and replied: ‘So I hear what you’re saying…

‘The fact that it’s that simple for me is a real big advantage.

‘I’m not sure it’s got as much flavour as the things that you would usually make for us.

‘Usually the things that you make are bursting, you can taste the tomatoes, you can taste all the herbs and stuff…

‘Do you think… is it a little bit bland?’

Cat replied: ‘A little bit. I’m sure kids would love it? It’s a go to and it’s what she says on the show!

‘I would oven roast the tomatoes before.’

Clodagh told the presenters: ‘My thing with kids is that it’s really important to teach children flavours when they are younger’

Clodagh replied: ‘My thing with kids is that it’s really important to teach children flavours when they are younger.

‘That entices them to cook. It gives them an understanding of flavours.’

Ben then added: ‘The pasta is cooked brilliantly though. The spaghetti is fantastic.’

Clodagh awkwardly replied: ‘Yeah!’

The show then swiftly moved on and the pair interviewed the stars of new drama Towards Zero.

It comes after viewers shared their brutal response after Spencer Matthews defended withholding his fortune from his kids on Monday.

During the interview, Ben mentioned how Spencer had recently said he wanted his children to find their own way in life, and to achieve off their own hard work.

Those watching at home took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their brutal thoughts on the matter, admitting they had no interest in the subject at all.

One brutally tweeted: ‘Ffs next. Who cares #thismorning.’

Another added: ‘#ThisMorning zzzzzzzzzz. Bore off, pal.’

A third chimed in: ‘Haven’t a clue who he is apart from he’s been running.’
