Princess Kate has always been vocal about her love of sport, and is believed to have passed this onto her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. As a mum of three, however, the Princess of Wales, 43, may no longer have as much time as she would like to indulge in all her sporting hobbies.

As well as having a love for running, the princess also reportedly enjoys playing tennis too. Kate, who is the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, is believed to still play the sport but once admitted she now has less time to do so.

During a trip to Bond Primary School in South West London in January 2018, Kate told students at Wimbledon Junior Tennis Initiative training sessions and activities that she is not as sporty as she used to be as she has “lots of babies”.

Princess of Wales discusses the importance of nature

As reported by MyLondon, she told the primary school students: “I love tennis, I think it’s a great sport, I was really sporty when I was little, less so now that I’ve got lots of babies!

“But keep it up, it’s great to be active, as everyone’s been saying here today. It’s been a real pleasure to meet all of you.”

Tennis champion Laura Robson also once recalled how Kate seemed to genuinely love tennis, with Laura having once spectated with the future Queen at Wimbledon.

“We went out to watch [British female No. 1] Katie Boulter, and then she was going for lunch with Roger Federer afterwards because they were all in the royal box that day.

“I think it’s just great to see someone like that support tennis and to have such a passion for it, and the rest of her family are always at Wimbledon as well, so the more support the better.”

It is believed Kate has been playing tennis for years, with her love for the sport extending back to her school days.
