Beth Cordingly, known for her role as Ruby Milligan in Emmerdale, has reached out to her fans with a heartfelt message after revealing she spent “hours” in tears.

Taking to Instagram, the actress posted an intimate video where she spoke candidly about her recent emotional challenges and offered comfort to her followers, reminding them that they are “not alone”.

Opening up, she shared: “I just wanted to say in case this makes anyone feel better, which it might not,” adding, “I’m having a really happy day today, but on Saturday I cried my eyes out for probably five hours.”

Beth then touched upon various factors that could have contributed to her feelings, such as perimenopause, alcohol, and her long-standing diagnosis of Generalised Anxiety Disorder, while also pondering if undiagnosed ADHD or lack of sleep played a part.

She reassured her audience: “It might be that I haven’t got that, and I’ve got undiagnosed ADHD. It might just be that I hadn’t had enough sleep. I’m not sure. It could be all of those things.”

With a comforting tone, she concluded: “We’re all mad here aren’t we. It’s all good now, I just wanted to… you know… in case anyone’s having a bad day, you’re not alone.”

In her caption, Cordingly sent a virtual “big hug” to those grappling with their own emotions and stressed the normality of feeling overwhelmed at times, reports Belfast Live.

Her words in the caption were encouraging: “I’m not sharing this for any other reason than to say: you’re not alone, this too shall pass, I feel completely mental a LOT of the time and hang in there,” she penned. “You’re normal. It’s normal.”
