The Oklahoma City Thunder is sitting at the top of the Western Conference. And the Minnesota Timberwolves recently got to taste what it feels like defeating the league’s top-seeded team. While the energy peaked throughout the game, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander got Wolves fans chanting ‘free throw merchant’ for him.

During the Timberwolves’ impressive 116-101 victory over the Thunder, fans got creative in their support. The loyal fanbase unabashedly mocked Gilgeous-Alexander by chanting “Free Throw Merchant!” throughout the game. While SGA managed to score 24 points, it was his 11 successful free throws on 11 attempts that contributed significantly to his tally.

And even as he struggled with field goals, shooting only 28.6% from the floor. However, Gilgeous-Alexander remained rooted in his determination and sank a couple of free throws. But he couldn’t ignore the fact that more than a hundred opposing fans were chanting continuously. And Shai was caught smiling as the camera zoomed on his face.

The star point guard was caught smiling after he found the chants were directed towards him. As the night progressed and the Timberwolves secured their convincing win, the chants only grew louder. The victory added to Minnesota’s playoff aspirations; it did not harm the top-seeded OKC much.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Acknowledged Anthony Edwards’ ‘MVP’ Endorsement

While Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is getting all the love and attention he deserves. While most of the league is voicing for him to be the MVP, his other peers joined in. SGA recently received an encouraging endorsement for his MVP candidacy from Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards.

“He’s looking like the MVP, man,” Edwards said just before a highly anticipated matchup between the two players.

“The best satisfaction is when your peers recognize and respect your craft,” Gilgeous-Alexander reacted to ANT’s comment.

This season, Gilgeous-Alexander has been nothing short of phenomenal. He’s averaging an impressive 32.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game. He will win the MVP award in no time, given that he keeps on contributing at this level. The Oklahoma City Thunder are thriving this season with a league-best record of 44-9, which has much to do with SGA’s individual efforts.

During the most recent NFL Draft in Detroit, social media was buzzing as athletes showed up to the red carpet event with their girlfriends and family. Many of the incoming NFL rookies were African-American and were spotted with white women, which has become the usual theme for years.

The same thing happens with the NBA Draft.

This year, the discourse on the NFL Draft and NBA Draft has gotten even louder as African-American women openly pondered why so many of the players never have a partner that is the same race as them.

One guy on TikTok decided to answer that question by revealing that the vast majority of his division-1 friends in college or headed to the league are dating or married to white women and explained why.

He stated that some of them had told him that their white girlfriend looked up to Taylor Swift while their girlfriend looked up to Megan The Stallion. He then states the guy asks how many white women he has seen doing the Megan Thee Stallion challenge as opposed to Black women.

He then dove into another story of a friend who relayed that his Black girlfriend started to request money from him as soon as she found out about his NIL money. She wanted her hair and nails done. He then added that the Black women would be upset if they went to places like Chipotle, and she demanded steak houses.
