The Philadelphia Eagles emphatically beat Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. It was never a contest.
The final score, 40-22, only looked as close as it was because the Eagles had already called off their star players and could be seen already celebrating on the sidelines.
In a poignant moment before the Super Bowl, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce had quite the moment in front of his teammates.
The Chiefs tight end was reportedly crying his eyes out.
Appearing on Up & Adams, NFL reporter James Palmer noted that Travis Kelce cried during his pregame speech to his teammates.
Kelce played in his fifth Super Bowl on Sunday as the Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles down in New Orleans. It was likely his final Super Bowl and game with the Chiefs.
The soon-to-be hall of famer has reportedly been considering whether to retire or return for another year.
Palmer added that Kelce also cried in his pregame speech before last year’s Super Bowl.
“Travis cried, but he cried last year,” Palmer said.
Travis Kelce Given Deadline By Chiefs To Make Decision
As Travis Kelce ponders retirement, his current team is ensuring that they need to hear from him sooner rather than later.
The Kansas City Chiefs are giving their star player about a month to decide if he will continue playing.
Speaking on 96.5 The Fan, reporter Nate Taylor said Kelce, the 34-year-old, sounds “very tired” and may be thinking about retiring.
“He sounds very exhausted. And so, the Chiefs are going to give him essentially a month,” Taylor said.
“You know, they would like to know sometime by March 14th or 15th—you know, that’s kind of like the deadline. I don’t know if he wants to go out, particularly on that note, but I understand.”
