Ex-Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has candidly admitted that there’s “nothing he can do” about a particular issue on his Diddly Squat farm in Oxfordshire.

Jeremy, who took over the reins of the farm in 2019 after purchasing it back in 2008, has witnessed a notable surge in animal numbers on the property over the years.

The launch of his series Clarkson’s Farm on Amazon Prime in 2021allowed viewers to get a glimpse into his agricultural adventures and mishaps.

Writing in his column for The Sun, the quiz show star shared an issue that’s been giving him a bit of bother on the farm.

He pointed out that despite his dogs being generally obedient with the livestock, they just can’t resist chasing deer, admitting there’s “nothing he can do” to curb their behaviour.

He described his frustration, saying: “But there is nothing I can do to stop them chasing deer.”

He humorously recounted his ultimately unsuccessful efforts to intervene: “I spend half my life giving it the full ‘Fenton!’ as they whizz about in a hopeless quest to catch something that’s way faster than they are.”

In his column, he also touched upon a new invention aimed at training guide dogs not to chase squirrels, pondering whether he should adapt it for his own use by swapping the squirrel for a deer. However, he wryly noted that his Labradors might simply end up eating the device instead.

Before his stint on Clarkson’s Farm, Jeremy Clarkson first gained fame through the BBC’s Top Gear. The show, which premiered in 1977, amassed a large fanbase with its blend of car reviews, nail-biting challenges, and celebrity guest spots.

Following his departure from the show in 2015, it wasn’t long before he was back in the driver’s seat for a new motoring series.

The programme, which followed a similar format to Top Gear, also featured familiar co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May, who transitioned from the BBC series to The Grand Tour. A spin-off special titled The Not Very Grand Tour: The Power and the Glory was launched on Amazon Prime earlier this year.
